Project Management
Case Study
My team was stretched, and I was asked to step up and help. We had our annual end of the year greeting to get done and we only had two weeks to make it happen. I eagerly took on the challenge, working with an outside agency as we had done in the past.
I started the project by doing research on what visuals and messages we had sent in the past, and greetings that had been sent by other organizations. From this, I was able to develop a list of new and fresh ideas. I took my list of ideas and met with our internal marketing team. I led a brainstorming discussion, sharing what I had found in my research and my ideas. The discussion led to many good ideas, and I incorporated the team's feedback into my notes.
I then convened a meeting with our vendor to explain the ideas that we had. Given my experience with design, I knew we were limited with what we could do in such a short timeframe. I led a discussion explaining the storyboard that I had in mind, and we were able to develop a solid plan for the project.
We ended up doing two minor rounds of revisions, added sound, and were able to finalize the project within the deadline. In fact, I set the video up in Vimeo and sent it out from our email platform ahead of the deadline.
The final result received good reviews. My manager believed this was one of the best greetings we had ever done, and I received an award for my work leading the project.
